Print Matting & Framing

At Digital Silver Imaging we know matting and framing. In our gallery, The Griffin Museum of Photography by Digital Silver Imaging, we practice that craft everyday. With each exhibition we examine how to best present the artist's imagery, this keeps us in touch with our customer's needs and tastes. We treat your print like we treat our own, with only the best archival materials, practices, and care. Don't see it listed? Matting

We bevel cut our mat windows by hand, using 100% rag archival museum board. There are less expensive, non-conservation materials but those cheaper options do not offer a lifetime guarantee like the Crescent board we use. Your matted image is mounted to Cresent 4 ply backing board with archival museum photo corners. If you prefer dry mounting your image we can do that too.

Framing

We believe that a frame should compliment an image, not steal the show. That philosophy has guided our choice of stock frames that are beautiful, functional, and classic. However we know that sometimes you need a "special" frame. Just give us a call, our framing department can even create a custom frame profile just for you. Unless specified, all frames include impact resistant optically clear UV plexi glass. Our matting and framing services include all the assembly. Your image comes to you ready to hang.

• DSI Value Frame: We have selected the most popular print formats and preassembled our DSI Value Frame. In addition to the Nielsen #11 matte black frame the price includes: 4-ply 100% rag archival Crescent, bevel-cut mat, acid free backing board, and UV plexiglass.
• DSI Custom Metal Frame: A clean profile, defined by a 1 5/16" height moulding makes for a very attractive frame. Our custom metal frames use the matte black Nielsen #117 extruded aluminum mouldings and UV plexi glass. Custom colors and profiles available, please call for a price quotation.
• DSI Custom Wood Frame: A Digital Silver Imaging exclusive. We have had our friends at ASF custom make a unique wood frame moulding just for you. This beautiful hardwood frame has a black finish that still shows the beauty of the wood grain without detracting from your image. Made down the street from our lab in the good old USA. Includes UV Plexiglass and black paper backing to protect your image from dust.
